Aku tahu hidup di luar negara memang susah tetapi disebabkan semangat HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL ini aku memberanikan diri untuk memohon penganjuran untuk belajar di luar negara. Aku juga sedar bahawa bukan senang untuk berjaya dalam permohonan anjuran pengajian luar negara ini, tetapi HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL. Kalau tak BERANI Untuk Cuba dan BERANI UNTUK MENGHADAPI KEGAGALAN, maka kita tidak akan maju.
Beberapa bulan kemudian, keputusan temu duga diumumkan. Aku GAGAL untuk mendapatkan penganjuran ke negara pilihan yang aku pohon. Pada masa itu, aku belajar di Kolej Matrikulasi Negeri Sembilan. Aku pasrah dengan keputusan yang ada. Pada masa itu, aku tahu yang HIDUP ini memanglah semata-mata BERANI UNTUK GAGAL. Aku mungkin GAGAL sekarang, tapi belum tentu aku akan GAGAL buat selama-salamanya. Ya, HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL.
Suatu hari, aku mendapat satu panggilan. Aku tidak menjangkakan apa-apa panggilan daripada sesiapa pun pada hari itu, dan aku dapat merasakan panggilan itu akan mengubah hidupku buat selama-lamanya. Aku mengatakan pada diri aku sendiri, HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL dan aku menjawab panggilan tersebut dan ya, firasatku benar. Aku ditawarkan untuk melanjutkan pelajaran ke Russia. Tapi Russia? Aku diberitahu yang aku akan menduduki pengajian ini selama 5 setengah tahun dalam bahasa Russia. Aku juga diberitahun bahawa batch aku adalah pioneer batch pelajar Malaysia ke Moscow Aviation Institute. Ini bermaksud belum ada lagi graduan pelajar Malaysia daripada Moscow Aviation Institute dan selepas tamat pengajian belum tentu lagi ada pekerjaan/jawatan yang sedia ada untuk kami. Ya, inilah satu contoh kes sebenar HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL.
Aku tertanya pada diriku sendiri. Mampukan aku? Kursus yang ditawarkan itu, kalau diikutkan boleh menjanjikan pekerjaan yang mahal gajinya jika kena pada tempat. Itupun jika aku mampu mendapatkan jawatan tersebut. Masalahnya sekarang, wujudkah jawatan tersebut di Malaysia? Kalau tak wujud, mana aku nak kerja? Namun, aku berpegang pada prinsip HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL. Aku lupakan segala persoalan tersebut. Aku lupakan sementara dan aku terus mengatakan ‘Ya’ dan menerima tawaran tersebut. HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL.
Bukan calang-calang orang boleh dengan sewenang-wenangnya mengatakan yang mereka HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL. Tidak sama sekali. Aku sendiri belum tentu boleh mengatakan begitu, tetapi aku berpegang pada prinsip HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL supaya aku boleh mengatakan pada diri aku yang semua ini akan tamat suatu hari nanti. GAGAL sekali tak bermakna GAGAL selama-lamanya. HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL.
Masa hadapan aku masih kabur, masih penuh dengan ketidakpastian. Bayangkanlah kehidupan seperti itu, bayangkanlah bagaimana aku menghadapi hidup aku tiap-tiap hari di sini.
